Great for a trip on a moonless night. Take one of the many local boats to Bahía La Parguera for a little dinoflagellates watching. Due to their delicate ecology, bioluminescent bays are rare.

Channels
An area just off the coast of Parguera where more than 30 mangrove cays and islands form ornate channels. On the weekend, the locals often visit one of the mangrove areas for an impromptu gathering. Go to the dock by the plaza to arrange a trip.

Dr. Juan A. Rivero Zoo
This zoo is a great place to take the kids to see animals in an open, savanna-like environment. The older section is undergoing an extensive renovation.

This gallery displays antique equipment (cameras, typewriters, etc.) as well as paintings and hammered copperware.

Gilligan's Island
Part of the Dry Forest Reserve, a few hundred meters offshore. Very popular, especially on the weekends.

La Pared
A 20-mile long coral reef wall that runs parallel to the coast from Cabo Rojo to Guánica. A perfect spot for divers.

Playas de La Parguera
Boat rides from La Parguera are available to go to the Mata La Gata, Caracoles and El Laurel beaches. All just east of town. Other local beaches include Playa Rosada and Cayo Enrique.

A major museum of religious artifacts and art. In addition, the museum distributes an excellent walking map of the historic district.
